Shelby was found with Seymour and is also timid and nervous. She appears friendly and wants to make up she is just nervous at this time wondering why she is at the shelter. She is about three years old and a Terrier mix. Shelby gets along with some male dogs but does not seem to care for females. We think she would do best as an only dog. She knows how to sit and come.

Brad

Click on Picture for a Larger Image

Breed:

Pitbull

Age:

7 Years

Gender:

Male

Comments:

Brad is a very mellow, laid back kind of boy which makes him an excellent choice for someone who does not have the time or desire to train a dog. He has attended quite a few events as a shelter ambassador and almost everyone said “that dog is exhausted” and we would say "no he is just lazy.” Brad enjoys his naps and can sleep during a car show and in the middle of Petco. He even laid down and napped during his bath and nail trim. He does snore but he is so adorable you just have to laugh. Brad stays off the furniture, stays away from the coffee table and trash can. He does not beg and has very good manners and is housebroken. He loves to play ball and go for car rides. Brad likes to go for walks but he does have arthritis. The good news is he does not pull on the leash. You can take toys and bones from him. Brad ignores other animals when out in public but he would do best in a home as an only pet. He does not like to share his food or toys with dogs or cats but he does not mind if humans take it. Brad is very responsive to commands and can be verbally stopped if he happens to do something you don’t like. Brad seems good with kids but because of his arthritis he would be best with older kids. Come meet our sweet Brad and play ball with him. You will laugh at his full body wiggle and be entertained by his comical expressions.

Breed:

Shepherd/Boxer Mix

Age:

2.5 Years

Gender:

Male

Comments:

Harley is a two and a half year mix who loves people. If you ask if he wants to go Bye Bye, he knows that means a ride in the car. He knows how to sit and shake. Harley wants to be a lap dog even though he is a bit big for that. He gets along with some dogs and cats too. Harley is house trained and neutered. He knows how to sit and down. We think Harley should be in a home with no children, he wants all the attention for himself.

Comments:

Dozer was found not so far from the shelter on Husband road. We think he is about 5 or 6 years old. Dozer needs to be the only dog in the home as he does not care for other dogs. We don't know how he feels about cats. We would also like to place him in a home without children as Dozer does not seem to understand kids; he is friendly to adults.

Breed:

Husky Mix

Age:

3 Years

Gender:

Comments:

Ruger was surrendered to the shelter by his owners. He is a Husky mix and has a strong prey drive. Unfortunately Ruger did not mix well with the neighbor's chickens. However, his previously family said he loves kids and he is neutered and house trained. He will need a home with no small animals. He was the only pet in his previous home so we don't know how he feels about other dogs. Ruger is three years old. He knows how to sit, shake and come and enjoys getting brushed.

Cocoa

Click on Picture for a Larger Image

Breed:

Lab

Age:

4 Years

Gender:

Male

Comments:

Cocoa lived peacefully in his family for four years until one of the children in his home tried to take his rawhide from him; he did not like that. However his previous family said he is friendly with other dogs, but not cats. They suggest that older children would be best or maybe a home with no kids. Cocoa is house trained and neutered. Like most Labs he loves to play fetch and chase birds. He also enjoys treats and taking naps.

Buster

Click on Picture for a Larger Image

Breed:

Cocker Spaniel

Age:

7 Years

Gender:

Male

Comments:

Buster was owned but was living in less than desirable conditions. He is a seven year old Cocker Spaniel. Buster is reported to be friendly with children but needs a home with no other dogs. He does not like other dogs and we have no information how he feels about cats. Buster is house trained. He is touchy about being touched near his rear end, we don't know why but respect that. He also may need a muzzle for vet care and grooming. This poor dog endured abusive treatment so we are looking for a home where the owner will be kind and patient with him. He needs to learn to trust people again.

Edward

Breed:

Pitbull Mix

Age:

Comments:

Edward was a stray so we don't have any history on him. We think he looks like a mix breed with perhaps some Pit Bull and who knows what else! He appears to be around one year old. He is quite happy and has been a friendly fellow.

Bailey

Click on Picture for a Larger Image

Breed:

Lab

Age:

8 Years

Gender:

Female

Comments:

This is an extremely mild mannered dog. She was brought to us by the Humane Officer as her previous owner was unable to care for her. We are seeking an owner for Bailey that will commit to helping her lose weight. She is so over weight it effects her quality of life. The extra weight is not good for her hips. Bailey was recently at an adoption event and was very friendly to everyone she met. She is an eight year old Lab.

She is a spayed Lab mix and she is house trained. Boo will need a home with no cats and she will have to meet any dogs that would share her home. Boo does get along well with children. She is three years old.

Delilah Dee

Breed:

Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix

Age:

1 Year

Gender:

Female

Comments:

Delilah Dee, came to us because she could not live peacefully with the other dog in the home so we are seeking a home where she can be the only dog. She is a one year old Chihuahua Dachshund mix breed. She is house trained and friendly with cats. She would like to be in a home with no children. She is a cute little dog.

Josie

Click on Picture for a Larger Image

Breed:

Lab

Age:

2 Years

Gender:

Female

Comments:

Josie was surrendered with several other Labs from a breeder. Josie was adopted but returned to the shelter twice. She was reported to be nice with children but just had a hard time sharing attention with other pets. We think she was so over joyed at having a nice home she got jealous and didn't understand that there was enough love for all the dogs in the home. She would do best as an only pet. She won't feel slighted if another pet gets attention because she will be " the one and only!" The person that adopted and returned her reports she is house trained. Josie like to be close to her people at all times. She is so lovable and people friendly but after two attempts in a home with other dogs we will now wait until she can find a home as the only dog. She has all the great Lab features and is quite the people pleaser. Please don't pass her by because of the previous failed adoptions, we now know it is an absolute must she be the one and only pet.
